New Issue of Total Access Magazine — January 2017

By Byron Whetstone, American Direct President

Our biannual publication, Total Access, should be hitting mailboxes and inboxes any day now and can be viewed on our website here.

In this issue, you’ll find a few of our latest high-profile projects, alongside a piece by James St. Pierre, Vice President of Sales for American Direct’s access control software, AccessNsite. He discusses how AccessNsite is poised in 2017 to change the way we do business by providing interfaces to more leading products in our market at a faster pace than ever before.

You’ll also find my reflection, ‘Edge of Disruption’, discussing how many companies today are being forced to make significant adjustments to their business models because technology has been changing the methods by which they operate effectively and profitably.

And finally, we’re proud to share three of our recent projects:

For the Burns & McDonnell World Headquarters Expansion, American Direct provided doors and hardware for the 425 openings, specified finish hardware and door parameters to meet project requirements, and worked directly with the owner’s representatives, the owner’s architectural team, and the construction team to complete this design build project.

The door and hardware scope for the new Daimler Trucks North America Headquarters project in Portland, OR was extremely large as American Direct was contracted to provide doors, frames, and hardware for more than 500 openings as well as specialty items including toilet partitions, bike racks, lockers, and fire equipment. Our team hit it out of the park on this one with stellar customer service and quick attention when inevitable issues arose.

In a unique partnership, American Direct collaborated with Doors and More, also a turnkey contractor, for the 850,000 square foot apartment complex One Lakes Edge in Houston, TX. It was an opportunity for both companies, albeit industry competitors, to work together to accomplish what the owner/developer requested: American Direct providing the doors, frames, and hardware, and Doors and More providing the trim package and installation for doors, frames, hardware, and trim.
