Transformation is Happening
I’m Byron Whetstone the CEO of American Direct and lately you’ve heard me talk a lot about change and I’m going that change that word today to transformation. Transformation is real and transformation is happening and it’s happening period. Everything is changing, everything is going to change and I think the primary to thing realize as an organization and as an industry is that data analysis and data analytics is the future understanding of our world view. I think this is represented by client relationship management software tools but it’s also represented by the collection of data at the door opening or even with the credential as it touches the door opening or the electronic locks. In the old days a contract hardware distributor did not sell electronic locks and a commercial integrator did not sell wood doors or electronic exit devices. I’m describing for you a new future because the channel structures are different, the channel structures have been disrupted by our go to market strategy and we are moving in a direction that has been increasing endorsed by the manufacturers in the space as the path to the market and that we are the leader. I appreciate that recognition but we want to keep driving our transformation.
There has been a lot of forecast about electronic locking and there was a recent statistic that said compound annual growth rate in electronic locks by 2023 would be at 1.2 billion, I think it’s accelerating and I think it might be as high as 2 billion dollars by 2025. And if you’re not selling electronic locking products and if you’re not selling electronic exit devices you’re not in the game. Another way of saying the future is connectivity and communication and control over the physical door opening are the future of the business. Construction events, timelines that include construction events are going to be driven by technology value add and by solutions not specifications. Because this is where the battle is happening this is where you are going to find American Direct. Thanks
