Challenge
When Alutiiq International Solutions prepared to build a new exercise facility at Fort Bliss that would be open to soldiers and civilians alike, it faced a number of tall orders. The $22 million, 96,000-square-foot project required the installation of dozens of openings and hundreds of lockers — a huge logistical challenge.
Solution
American Direct helped Alutiiq select, order and install more than 500 lockers. And with American Direct staffers’ extensive knowledge of construction regulations, they were able to identify a design flaw that would have put the project out of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
After identifying the problem, American Direct worked directly with the architect to rearrange locker room space to make ADA-compliant lockers accessible per federal requirements.
