Adapting To Change
We’ve been talking a lot about change, when we adapt to change it makes us better. Find out how we have been reimagining our organization’s potential.
Good morning I’m Byron Whetstone, the CEO of American Direct. Lately we’ve been talking a lot about change and the statement that I’ve made more than a few times is that change makes us better, but only when we adopt to the change or adapt to the change depending on your order. Four things I want to say about that first change is how we deliver value in the marketplace. We’ve been driving the market in a new way and we have to remember to to continue our commitment to change, in particular change our commitment to technology. Second, change that has been very, very substantial is to reimagine our organization’s potential. You know what should we add what should we drop what should we do more or less of and what we have hit upon that I think what is so substantial for us is a direct to market access control platform with a direct market, direct-to-market, commercial integration business. And embedded in all of that is a completely scalable enterprise level construction event driven business. The third change that we have been driving forward with is to prioritize and reallocate our resources as an organization we put in a new ERP system. We are processing and trying to put those systems and protocols in place. We’ve added a complete change to our revenue generation teams and we have made significant investments in quality control. And the fourth item of change I want to make sure and remind us of is communication. No communication; no performance, and so communication is essential to morale. It’s essential to overall performance, and the last time we were together I said at the very end that change is happening at a breakneck speed. I would say to you today not only that the speed is accelerating you know our total security solutions transformation is equivalent to the change. We are transforming from a traditional door frame hardware distribution company to a newly created business model that combines technology with that mechanical door product opening to create a total security solution. I would say we’re five years into this change, we’ve broken every process, we’ve broken every system but we have committed and stayed committed to the total transformation and I’m going to tell you friends, it remains a high priority for us to continue to invest in technology. In people we think the opportunity is enormous because doors frames and hardware our legacy business is a commodity. What we are bringing to the market is an intelligent design and technology application that is a reality and that is how we are going to create value in the marketplace. The last thing I would say to you; I have cast vision on this brief video today because that’s where we’re headed; you can bet on it. You can be a part of it if you’d like but more change to come and American Direct will be the bold technology leader in this combined integration business thanks for listening and watching.
