In addition to providing doors and hardware for 425 openings, American Direct was hired for a its value-add services—including design assist—for the Burns & McDonnell's World Headquarters expansion project.
This special issue of Total Access showcases not only how American Direct has become the national leader in totally integrated safety and security solutions, but why American Direct is the obvious choice in creating safer and more secure spaces for people to work, learn, and live.
Because the new housing facility at Indiana University - Purdue University at Fort Wayne consisted of six separate buildings, project managers were concerned about problems trying to sort all of the hardware on the construction site. American Direct helped solve this problem by working to sort the hardware for each different IPFW building at its Kansas City staging area and putting them on pallets addressed to the correct building.
American Direct is always cognizant of special requirements on any job, but because this project had to be 100 percent fully ADA accessible, special attention was given to making sure all openings could accommodate wheelchairs and other medical assistance devices.
